Healthy Dining Out by Lance Breger

There you are again... sitting at home in your pajama pants with Chinese takeout, watching people try to sing, dance, become rich or find love on TV.

Ever wish you could just escape all of that?! Wish you could make a mundane evening - magnificent? Well your wishes are all about to come true when you visit Georgetown’s Mie N Yu.

Imagine starting your night by cozying into a canopied booth in their Moroccan Bazaar Dining Area with a great group or that special someone. You’ll feel as though you have been whisked away as you sip a heart-healthy, biodynamic Pinot Noir or anti-oxidant packed pomegranate lemonade while your sensational server gets you set for your personal tour of The Silk Road.

Next you begin your meal by sharing three of their exotic appetizers: banana pesto hummus, organic peanut salad and firecracker tuna tartar. Expect the unexpected with these dishes that are perfect for sharing ‘good times’ and ‘good fats’ (Omega-3, Mono & Polyunsaturated) over. At the same time the heat from the tartar will surely stimulate both your metabolism and curiosity for what’s next!

As you reach the main course, you’ll have already left all your cares behind as you enjoy the Green Tea Beef to complete your ‘Silk Road Celebration.’ Not only is this beef dish - delish, but it also has a very high protein-to-fat ratio and is raised organically from local farms right over in Virginia.

Now you wish the night would never end, but like all good things, your evening has to come to an end. Don’t be sad that it’s time to get back to reality because Mie N Yu has two different ways to dine (traditional 3 courses or tapas-like) and seven completely unique and authentic dining rooms so your next visits are always like a brand-new adventure waiting to happen!
