Shawarma King

Can you name a famous king? Unless you were a History major or work at the Smithsonian your famous kings probably consist of Burger, Lion, and Sacramento. Now can you name a healthy king?  I didn’t think so either. Today I am going to introduce you to the one in Washington DC. All hail Shawarma King!

Shawarma King has been ruling the Adams Morgan Mediterranean Food Kingdom since he and his Queen took the throne in December of 2008. For those of you who don’t know what Shawarma even means, it is a method of cooking beef and chicken that leaves the meat juicy, warm, and full of flavor.

All his majesty’s guests will feel like royalty as they experience the owner’s personalized touch, squeaky clean restaurant, quality meats, imported spices, health enhancing vegetables, outdoor patio, and traditional Middle-Eastern beverages.

What I love the most about Shawarma King is that it’s not a dietary monarchy; you can customize your meal to maximize the nutritional value and minimize the calories. From the type of bread or wrap, to the type of protein, to the dressings, to the vegetables - you will get exactly what you want!

His highness created a three-step process so you don’t feel like the court jester if you’ve never had a shawarma sandwich:

  1. Bread It – I recommend the whole wheat organic Lavash wrap or the wheat pita for a complex carbohydrate that digests slowly and has higher levels of fiber – or ditch the bread to cut the carbs.

  1. Stuff It – Go for the chicken shawarma or falafel - both are light and are pure protein.

  1. Top It – You can’t go wrong picking from the freshest vegetables and sauces chosen specifically for their mineral, vitamin, enzyme, nutrient content.

Like no other shawarma restaurant you will eat with comfort and confidence.

Shawarma King takes the crown for being THE place for shawarma in the city!
